Cherry Squares
Ingredients Putting it together 

1 c butter or margarine
1 1/2c granulated sugar
4      eggs
1 tsp  almond extract
2 c    flour
2 tsp  baking powder
1 can  cherry pie filling
       powder sugar



Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Beat. Add almond extract. Stir in flour and baking powder. Pour into a buttered 9 X 13 pan. Spoon in 16 spots (making a grid) the cherry pie filling. Filling will sink into cake. Use also blueberry pie filling.
Bake 350o   for 45 to 50 minutes. Dust top with icing sugar
