Scrapbook your way to a complete memory album
What is a scrapbook album and why should I have one?
A scrapbook or memory album is a combination of memorabilia:
- photos
- certificates
- a child's first handwriting
- the birth card from the cradle while in hospital
- letter of proposal
- receipt from your honeymoon
- postcard of the picture you missed
- your grandfather's medal
- an achievement award
- invitations to special events
This all comes together into a scrapbooking album along with journaling about these important occasions, making this book special and meaningful to you and wonderful for others to admire. It is important to have a Scrapbook album to look back on your past in order to remember all the special times, places, events and happenings in your life. This scrapbook album is your time capsule for future generations to keep your memories of PEI close to your heart. Speaking of heart! We have a Bed and Breakfast in the heart of PEI, where we have made a souvenir scrapbook album of our guests who have stayed with us, be sure to visit and become part of our memories.
Scrapbooking Steps used for album making
Learn to Crop, Mat, Arrange, Mount, Journal & Enhance your photos
Crop
When cropping your picture remember you are taking away backgrounds that don't add anything to your
picture. Leaving points of interest in your photos help tell about Where, When, Who, What. You can keep the picture square or crop your photo into different shapes.
Mat
Matting your pictures with acid-free lignin-free paper. Matting is done by placing photo safe paper behind your picture to enhance the photo or objects in the picture.
Arrange
Arranging your photos on a scrapbook page is called a page layout. Two ways of doing a page layout would be to keep your best photo in the centre and place the others around or arranging your pictures in a pattern of a letter "C" or "Z".
Mount
Mounting is the process of sticking the photos and matted photos or embellishments onto your scrapbook page with photo safe adhesives.
Journal
Journaling is the most difficult and important part of your scrapbook. Journaling tells the story about the photo by giving a short description about the event, holiday, or picture.
Enhance
Enhancing is adding stickers, die cuts, punch outs, and other little odds and ends that relate to the photo, like a wedding invitation or a dance card
